Meet the Founder
Kaneeshia “Kj” Johnson started her career in the fire service in 2021. She began her journey working part time at her city’s local department. Always knowing that the call to serve was strong, Johnson transitioned into a full time career in 2023. Johnson’s passion for representation and equity lead her to create the Black Helmet Collective.
“I’ve always believed that we were put on this earth to serve each other. I also personally know how financially challenging and discouraging entering into the fire service can be. Black Helmet Collective is my way of paying forward the blessings that I have received along my journey. Let’s create access and build legacies!”
